Trace: Soap Calculator — Privacy Policy

The short version

Trace: Soap Calculator does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything you enter (recipes, oil blends, additive notes, batch history, cure events, lye purity, unit preferences) stays on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. We do not collect your name, email, location, device identifiers, or usage data.

What we store on your device

The app saves your recipes, batch history, cure-event log, lye purity defaults (NaOH and KOH), default fragrance load, unit preference (grams or ounces), and water-expression default on your device using iOS SwiftData and UserDefaults. This data:

• Stays on your device only
• Is not transmitted anywhere
• Is removed if you delete the app

What we share

Nothing. We have nothing to share because we collect nothing.

Third-party services

None. Trace does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, including analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or AI providers.

Network access

The app does not require an internet connection to function. It does not make network requests. Citation URLs (Kevin Dunn / AOCS / USDA / Modern Soapmaking / Lovin' Soap Studio / IFRA / HSCG) open in your system browser when tapped; those requests are handled by Safari, not by Trace.

Children's privacy

Trace is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Since no personal data is collected or stored off your device, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. To remove all locally stored app data, delete the app from your device.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
